Scott Jurek
Ultramarathon Runner

Ultra great.
Scott Jurek is widely regarded as one of the greatest ultramarathoners of all time, with an impressive career spanning over two decades.
Named Ultrarunning Magazine’s “Ultra-Runner of the Year” Four times, Scott Jurek’s career is characterized not only by his numerous achievements and records but also by his consistency and longevity in the sport.
Notable triumphs include the Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run, which he won a record-breaking seven consecutive times, the 153-mile Spartathlon, the Hardrock 100, and the Badwater 135-Mile Ultramarathon. However, Scott’s crowning achievement came in 2015 when he set the speed record for the Appalachian Trail, completing the grueling 2,189-mile trek in just 46 days. His remarkable feat captured national attention and is the subject of his 2018 memoir, North.
Driven by an insatiable desire to learn, grow, and persevere, Scott’s ethos as both an athlete and public figure is built on these principles. His 2012 book, Eat & Run, a New York Times bestseller, blends personal stories with practical advice, inspiring readers to push their limits, heal their bodies, and “go the distance.”
Scott is a father, writer, and speaker, translating lessons from triumph and hardship. A mentor and lifelong runner, he’s still chasing the next challenge.
"Other runners revere him for his accomplishments but love him because he is the only champion who stays at the finish line of every ultramarathon in which he competes to greet every finisher, to congratulate them, to thank them for running."
