Climber
Chris Sharma
To climb harder than we ever have, we have to try harder than we've ever tried.
Chris Sharma is a world-renowned rock climber celebrated for redefining the boundaries of his sport. Known for his unparalleled athleticism and visionary first ascents, Chris has spent decades putting up some of the world’s most beautiful and difficult rock climbs.
From winning the Adult Open Bouldering Nationals at 14 years old to becoming the first to ascend routes like Biographie/Realization and Jumbo Love, he has set benchmarks across climbing disciplines. As a pioneer of deep water soloing, Chris brought this daring discipline into the spotlight with iconic climbs like El Pontas, a 5.15a over the Mediterranean.
Chris is passionate about inspiring the next generation of climbers. He owns several Sharma Climbing gyms across Spain and partnered with his longtime friend Jason Momoa to create The Climb, a 2023 Max competition series showcasing the full spectrum of sport climbing. The show was the first-of-its-kind, exposing new viewers to the full spectrum of what climbing can offer.
As a speaker, Chris draws on his lifetime of adventure to share lessons on resilience and creativity. He emphasizes the body-mind connection required in climbing and how its challenges mirror those of life. Through personal stories and hard-earned insights, Chris invites audiences to find their own “perfect rock face,” embrace the unknown, and find joy in the process—not just the peak. Whether addressing a retreat, keynote event, or college graduation, Chris’s message is universal: go for it, live life to the fullest, and dedicate yourself to something meaningful.
For Chris, climbing is more than a sport—it’s a creative and spiritual pursuit, a way to find artistry in every moment and movement, inspiring others to seek the same in their own lives.
