MOUNTAIN BIKER
Kate Courtney
She can and she will.
Kate Courtney is a dynamic professional mountain biker, Olympian, and World Champion. Raised at the base of Mount Tamalpais—the birthplace of mountain biking—Kate has been on two wheels her entire life. Over the years, her career has blossomed into one which straddles the line between fierce competitor and strong role model.
A dominant force in mountain biking, Kate has amassed a staggering list of accomplishments. She became the first American woman to win a UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in 17 years, then claimed the 2018 Elite XCO World Championship title. In 2019, she was crowned Elite XCO World Cup Overall Champion, and in 2023, she secured double gold at the Pan American Championships. Kate brought this same determination to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics as a member of Team USA.
Kate’s impressive athletic record enables her to serve as a leader for women in biking. She is the proud founder of She Sends Racing and the She Sends Foundation, platforms dedicated to connecting, supporting, and inspiring women through cycling by blending passion with purpose.
Kate’s presence as a speaker is as electrifying as it is inspiring. A natural storyteller, she blends deep insight with humor, sharing lessons on mental toughness, resilience, and the art of showing up—no matter what. She believes real confidence comes from experience, hard work, and training. No matter the audience, Kate emphasises the power of mental preparedness and persistence. She believes, “To deny the struggle is to deny the very thing that allows us to triumph in the end.”
Kate’s words remind audiences that with the right attitude and the courage to embrace the challenge, personal wins are always within reach.
